CT Scan

A CT scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do.

Bone Density Scans

A bone density test is the only test that can diagnose osteoporosis before a broken bone occurs. This test helps to estimate the density of your bones and your chance of breaking a bone. Our doctors recommend a bone density test of the hip and spine by a central DXA machine to diagnose osteoporosis.

Mammography is specialized medical imaging using x-ray pictures of the breast. Doctors use a mammogram to look for early signs of breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease. It can also be used if you have a lump or other sign of breast cancer.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive way of imaging the internal structures of the body using magnets. Doctors use these images to analyze whether you have any abnormalities in your organs, bones, soft tissues and joints.

Ultrasounds are used for a variety of diagnostic purposes. These include pediatric, vascular, and testicular cases. Unlike an x-ray, ultrasounds do not use radiation to produce an image. Instead, they use sound waves that reflect off tissue in your body to create an image.

Physicians use x-rays to see inside your body. The x-ray machine produces a high-energy beam that bones and dense tissue are unable to absorb, but which passes through the rest of your body. This produces an image that allows doctors to see your bones and any damage they may have suffered.
